Course Syllabus
Latin 4, 5: Mr. Esposito
2020 - 2021
In this course, students will address the roles of poet and orator in the first century B. C. The study of poems of Catullus and Horace, and of the Oratio Pro Archia (‘Oration for Archias’) will engage students in the close reading, translation, and analysis of verse and prose. They will also learn about the place of these authors in the development of Roman historical and literary traditions.
Reference to related works of Latin and English literature will supplement this study.
