As you have finished your short film, you need to EXPLAIN why you did what you did. You "co-directed" your film, so provide the insight of how you intentionally crafted it to meet the purpose and apply documentary techniques. This will show your SYNTHESIS of content and skill knowledge for Thinking: Critical.
What you MUST address:
- State the focus/purpose of your chapter
- Identify the key sequences in your film WITH timestamps.
- Explain WHY you included the "anchor content" (academic content, shot footage, interviews, b-roll) that you did
- Explain how/why you included the technical elements of creating a documentary -- We identified that you should use at least these five terms: B-roll, cut, rule of thirds, sequence, voice-over. Use this TERM DOCUMENT to use the proper vocabulary to describe what you are doing.
This should be specific, reference time stamps, not a generalized version. Please write this in CHRONOLOGICAL ORDER to match up with your video. You MUST use THIS TEMPLATE.
If you turn in an assignment that meets the expectations by the due date, you will be eligible for a revision. If you miss the due date deadline, this assignment has a late window that closes on Friday 11/8. Assignments turned in during the late window are NOT eligible for revision.
Here are two exemplars from previous years (note that you must include the proper film terms)
