Tap your creative skills and learn how to make unique and personal artists' books. This course is perfect for new and repeat students interested in exploring the rich tradition of bookmaking from cover-to-cover. Instruction in A.B.C. covers the history of bookmaking, creative sketching and writing exercises, and the fundamentals of bookmaking and book arts using a variety of techniques. You will have the opportunity to explore techniques in bookbinding and bookmaking, including: folded and sewn structures, pop-ups, sculptural, Japanese stab binding, and Tunnel Books. You may make use of collage, image transfer, monoprinting, and simple block printing techniques for creating images.
Grades are point based using the Art Department Rubrics.
