Physics at the Advanced College Prep level provides students with a comprehensive overview of the major topics in physics. Physics is the study of patterns in the behavior of matter and energy, such as are quantifiable and repeatable. Emphasis will be placed on observing events in everyday life in order to collect and analyze evidence to discover and understand the patterns that emerge. Students will engage in numerous investigations and activities. Refinement of problem-solving, scientific writing, and science inquiry skills will be emphasized. While the particular subject matter is important, the most important aspect of this course is to develop the arts of challenging yourself, thinking carefully, and expressing yourself clearly.
