Dear Students, Parents & Guardians,

In this course, we will explore the major concepts in biology, emphasizing problem solving, laboratory exercises, and the application of biology to everyday life.  More specifically, we will focus on how biology relates to the human body.

Skills that will be emphasized in this class will be problem-solving, critical thinking, experimentation using the scientific method, argumentation and scientific writing.

In order to experience success in this course, you must develop good, active listening skills AND be able to take notes in class. Furthermore, it is important that you advocate for yourself as a learner.  This entails asking questions about material that you do not understand when that content is covered in class.  Ms. Booker and Ms. Wilkins are both available for extra help (office hours are listed above). Please ask either of us during class, come to office hours or send an email at bookerc@wellesleyps.org or wilkinsn@wellesleyps.org  to set up an appointment for extra help.

Our class will meet in Room 250.  Ms. Booker's office is Room 358 and Ms. Wilkins office is in the Library (Room 360.2).

More specific course expectations can be found below.  We look forward to working with you this year. Don’t forget that we are here to help you succeed in Biology, and we hope this will be a rewarding year for all of us!
