Cell Phone and Electronic Device Policy

To maintain a focused and respectful learning environment, cell phones, smart watches, and other electronic devices will not be used during class time. As students enter the classroom, they will park their phones and smart watches in their assigned spaces in the back of the classroom. Students will also put their devices on Do Not Disturb mode to avoid sounds or vibrations from disrupting the class. These devices will not be accessed by students, including during bathroom breaks, without specific permission. Additional electronics, including headphones, will also not be used during class time. 

 

 

 

Goals

  • Deliver curriculum to prepare students ofr future growth in mathematics
  • Offer opportunities to gain experience writing, talking, and defending ideas about Math

 

Expectations

  • Be engaged ... everyday
  • Ask for help before, during and after class when you need it
  • Take responsibility for your learning! 
  • Bring a graphing calculator

 

Grades - Total points earned / Total possible points

  • Hw - typically from DeltaMath -15% of term grade
  • skills quizzes - usually 10 points each (typically unannounced)
  • Tests using many skills and synthesizing ideas - 30-50 points each 

Extra - Help hour

Mornings - 8:00 - 8:30 Day 2 and Day 5

Afternoon - 2:30 - 3:00 Wednesdays
