Labs
We will do at least one lab per cycle. If you miss a lab, you will usually have to make it up after school.
Please be on time for the morning lab (7:30 am).
Tests & Quizzes
We will have 2-3 40-minute unit tests per quarter. If you are absent, please email me as soon as possible so we can make arrangements.
If you are permitted extended time, you will have the entire 60-minute class period for the test.
Makeup test policy
The final maximum possible score is 73%. For example, if you score a 60% on the original test and then an 82% on the makeup, your test score is recorded as 73% in Powerschool.
Makeup tests will primarily need to take place after school. If you have a special circumstance, we will make other arrangements.
Grading
- Tests / Quizzes – 50%
- Labs and homework – 50%
Collaboration on homework, labs, and class work is encouraged. However, cheating or copying off of another student’s work will not be tolerated.
Extra Credit
There will be no extra credit given. All of the assigned activities for the unit are expected to be
completed to the best of your ability.
Class Participation
Please, come to class on time, and be prepared to learn. Respect your peers and myself, and be engaged in the day’s activities.
Cell phones and headphones are not to be used during class. Using these devices without permission will result in nonparticipation credit for the day and repeated issues will result in communication to parent/guardian.
Absences
In the event that you are absent for class, you are still responsible for completing any and all activities that were covered. If you know that you will be absent in advance, please let me know. The due date for assignments will adjust based on how many days you missed and the extent of the assignment. All assignments are still due by the unit test for any credit.
In the event that I am absent. I will have all the information that you need posted on Canvas. It may include notes, videos, links to other websites, etc. Class participation and behavior expectations remain the same.
Textbook
If you sign out a textbook, you must return it at the end of the year or pay for a new copy.
