Course Syllabus

What is Math Workshop? This is a support class to help students taking Algebra 1 or Geometry (the math courses required for graduation for the state).

A typically class will look like:

  1. Warm Up → Ms. Miller selects topics from your “main” math class to work on.
  2. Work Time → Students will work on assignments for their main math class with support from the teacher or Student Assistants. As needed extra problems will be given to students for particular topics.
  3. Exit Ticket → Very similar to the warm up questions! A few questions focussing on current math topics.

Grading? – This class is graded on a Pass/No Credit Basis. To earn credit students must attend class, participate. There are no tests and no homework so credit is solely earned through the participation of class activities.

Attendance? - In a given semester the course will meet between 12-14 times. For credit a student must have less than 4 absences. As needed students can make a plan with Ms. Miller to make up for any absences (4 or more) so that they can still receive credit in the class.
