Welcome to Blue Block Drawing and Painting 2!

Class Schedule

  • We Drop Days 2 and 6
  • We meet at 8:33 to 9:33 on Day 7
  • We have only ~55 classes together
  • Our class ends the last week of January

 

Class Syllabus

Class Goals

1) Use drawing and painting tools and techniques to make stuff you like.

2) Improve your literacy and understanding of visual art.

3) Practice being independent, resourceful and helpful. 

 

Class Grading

50% is earned by your actions in class

Updated weekly based on your attendance and your choices in class,  including your engagement with class activities and respectful use of class materials. This is meant to emphasize the importance of your daily effort. 

 

50% is earned by your evidence of work in your portfolio slideshow

Each project has a rubric to clarify the expectations to earn the most credit possible.  Formative feedback is given often to help you earn more credit. 

Midterm summative evaluation of projects / modules and End of Term 'final' summative evaluation of projects / modules determine what you've earned.

Extra Help

Office Hours

Extra help is available after school on THURSDAYS  in 342 (the drawing and painting studio)

District accommodations (DCAP)Links to an external site. are available to all students, and in the 26-27 school year, WHS is committed to moving this forward with fidelity.

While some accommodations can be offered at the moment, others require advanced notice. 

 

For example: Extended time on an in-class assessment is a collaborative decision made by the teacher, student, and family to meet individual student needs.  The WHS guideline is up to 25% extra time.  This accommodation relies on proactive student communication prior to the date of the assessment.  The student and teacher must establish how the accommodation will be provided.
