Goals

• Deliver curriculum to prepare students for Calculus and some physics 
• Offer opportunities to gain experience writing, talking, and defending ideas about Calculus

Expectations

• Ask for help before, during and after class when you need it
• Take responsibility for your learning! 
• Bring a graphing calculator

• • HW - 10% of grade 
  • skills quizzes - 10-50 points each (typically unannounced)
  • Tests -(usually 3 per term) using many skills and synthesizing ideas - around 100 points each 

District accommodations (DCAP) are available to all students, and WHS is committed to moving this forward with fidelity.

While some accommodations can be offered at the moment, others require advanced notice.

Extended time on an in-class assessment is a collaborative decision (up to 25% extra time). This relies on proactive student communication, in person, prior to the assessment date of at least 48 hours.

All assessments are designed to be completed in 45 minutes. After a student turns in their assessment, they will not have access to their computers or other electronic devices. Students are encouraged to bring work for other classes as long as they are paper based assignments when they finish.

If you miss a quiz or a test you will be given the assessment at the next class meeting to complete.   If an extenuating circumstance arises, special arrangements may be made.
