Course Syllabus
Bienvenue dans la classe de Français 5H/ACP
The primary goals of this class are:
- to refine your listening, speaking, reading and writing skills.
- to provide you with strategies that allow you to communicate more effectively
- to give you a better understanding of French and Francophone culture.
During the year you will discuss everyday topics and learn how to speak at greater length and interact more extensively with your partners. To participate successfully in these activities, il is important for you to be willing to take risks with the language.
Some of the themes covered will be immigration, health, art and others according to students interest
The office hours are on Thursday after school 2:30 -3:05pm
How is my end of year grade computed?
Term 1 = 12% of your year end grade
Term 2 = 19% of your year end grade
Term 3 = 26% of your year end grade
Term 4 = 31% of your year end grade
The rationale for this increase in percentages is that what you learn in Term 1 will need to be remembered and used in Term 2, and so on, so by Term 4 you'll be required to use all the skills and information you've learned over the year.
Extended time on an in-class assessment is a collaborative decision made by the teacher, student, and family to meet individual student needs. The WHS guideline is up to 25% extra time. This accommodation relies on proactive student communication prior to the date of the assessment. The student and teacher must establish how the accommodation will be provided.
District accommodations (DCAP) are available to all students, and in the 26-27 school year, WHS is committed to moving this forward with fidelity.
While some accommodations can be offered at the moment, others require advanced notice.
